THE FARM - scene of the tragedy of Baldwin's Brigade.  The view is from the Turkish position on Chunuk Bair.  The depths of the Aghyl Dere (South), up which the brigade approached, are hidden by the farm.  Beyond them is the top of Cheshire Ridge with a Turkish track down it, and behind this again, also mainly hidden, lies the Chailik Dere up which the main body of New Zealand Infantry had originally climbed to Table Top (marked by a zigzag track) and Rhododendron Ridge (extreme left of the picture).  The Salt Lake and Suvla Bay are in the distance.

"Gallipoli Mission", (Crows Nest 1990), Charles E. W. Bean, p. 234
