While one column of troops made for Chunuk Bair by way of Table Top and Rhododendron, another would march two miles north along the beach, and turn right into the deep and scraggy Aghyl Dere. It would than divide itself into two parties; one would climb up to Agyl Dere to the summit of Hill Q,  while the other would advance on Koja Chemen Tepe- The third of the Sari Bair summits- by way of a long spur called Abdul Rahman Spur.
